Ο Περικλής Κακούσης, γεννήθηκε το 1879 και ήταν αθλητής του Πανελληνίου Γυμναστικού Συλλόγου. Το 1904 και πιο συγκεκριμένα στις 3 Σεπτεμβρίου, στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Σεντ Λούις, ο Περικλής Κακούσης κατέκτησε το χρυσό μετάλλιο στην άρση βαρών με δύο χέρια, αφού σήκωσε 111 κιλά και 70 γραμμάρια. Παρέμεινε στην Αμερική για δύο χρόνια, επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα το 1906 και συμμετείχε στους Μεσολυμπιακούς Αγώνες της Αθήνας όπου πήρε την 6η θέση με 121,5 κιλά. ...
