Born in 1879, Periklis Kakoussis was an athlete of the Panellinios Gymnastic Club. In 1904, on September 3th, he won olympic gold in St Louis by lifting a weight of 111kg and 70g. He remained two years in the US, then returned to Greece to compete in the Athens 1906 Mid-Olympics, where he took 6th place with 121,5kg
