European Weightlifting Championships 2003

Valentina Popova (RUS): “I’ve been for one and a half years in this category and I find it ideal for me, but I cannot exclude the possibility to change, since I would like to lift more. I’m still not sure in which category I’ll be in the Athens Olympics, but what is important in such competitions is to participate.”

Milena Trendafilova (BUL): “I have no plans to retire yet and as long as I feel strong enough and remain in good health I will continue my career. This competition in Loutraki is perfect and the town beautiful, and the organisation is of a level comparable to Olympic Games.”

Zarema Kasaeva (RUS): “I am very happy to be amongst the top three of the European Championships. I did not expect to make the National Team of Russia at such a young age. I generally don’t look towards the next competition, but set my goals to lifting more weights. This is my first medal in a senior competition.”
