Upon the conclusion of the Day 3 of the Antalya European Championships, which already finds Greece the proud owner of 11 medals, the President of the Hellenic Weightlifting Federation and General Secretary of International Weightlifting Federation (IBW), made the following statement:
“My warmest congratulations to all our athletes for their successful appearance as well as the medals they won during the European Championships. Most of all I congratulate the architect of these accomplishments Christos Iakovou who does an excellent job handling this team. We will continue with precision our serious effort towards our greater goal which is the 2004 Olympic Games”.

The European Championships concluded with our athletes winning 12 medals (2 Gold, 6 silver and 4 Bronze)
