He was born on December 18, 1980 in Tiflida and belongs to the Mycenae Club in Thessaloniki. He won 1 silver medal and 2 bronze ones in the European Cadet Championships in 1995, 1 silver medal in the same meeting in 1996; whereas, in the 2000 European Junior Championships, he won 1 silver medal and 2 bronze ones. In the menís category, he held the 7th position in the European Championships in 2000 (Attalia).
